Imagine a student is in the discipline office of their school. They have just received a citation for failing to comply with the established dress code. They are given the option to change their clothes or receive 'in school suspension'. Of course, the student believes their "offense" is ridiculous. It was only a mere rip in the right knee of their jeans. What should they do? Accept what they've been told, and change into one of the school's spare pair of pants? Or resist, accept their punishment and petition for change? To conform, or to be an individual? That is a question countless people ask themselves every day. Of course, conforming can cause less trouble for others, however, acting as an individual can bring a troubled mind tranquility. Forming groups to support different ideas, or even supporting a subject alone, can cause trouble for those involved, or it can bring change about for the better. Individuality allows growth as a society and species, despite that, conformity is not unnecessary, the biases between the two cause a great deal of conflict in today's society.

Individual inspires change, pushes everyone forward and allows society to improve. Without it, nothing would ever change. No new medical advances, no technological improvements, and no new conveniences to improve everyday lifestyle. In the adaptation of "Individuality vs. Fitting In" paragraph 4, it states: "If Michael Dell and Steve Jobs had the same personality, traits, and behaviors, it is doubtful that either one of them would have brainstormed and created the society changing technology they did.". Even if some ideas are for the better, some people resist change. They fear the unknown and the differences of what they're used to. Propaganda
The definition of Propaganda, is information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view. The key word is "misleading," and "biased." Propaganda is a part of everyday life for many of us, weather we recognize it or not. Groups, politicians, and big companies, are constantly trying to push their business and agendas at us, and we live oblivious to it. Everywhere you look there are forms of propaganda. Everything from billboards, to pop up ads, to tv commercials, attempt to brainwash us into believing inaccurate facts, and doing what they want.
They use specific tactics to do this, called "propaganda techniques." Glittering generalities, plain folks, bandwagons, name calling, transfers, testimonials, and card stacking are all forms of this. Advertisers utilize everything from positive words, to regular people, to implying use, to using symbols, celebrities and even using misleading information to bend your will.
In a recent commercials by the insurance company progressive, we see a few of these techniques in action. Although self–esteem is something everyone has, it can sometimes be difficult to realize your worth. There are many tools that can raise your awareness of your self–esteem, and journaling is just one of them. Not only can journaling raise your self–esteem, but it can improve your overall physical and mental health (ref #5). On the surface, journaling is a relatively simple concept. You find a bound book you like, maybe something with a nice picture on the front, and either line or unlined paper on the inside, whichever you prefer. Then get a quality writing pen and start putting words on paper. While it seems simple enough sometimes people, especially those with low self–esteem, can turn journaling into a self–deprecating exercise, or they may have trouble moving the thoughts in their head to the page in their hands. In any event, there are a few simple guidelines that should be followed to make journaling effective in uncovering your self–esteem. First is to ensure that your journal remains private. You are the only one that is ever going to read it so do not be afraid to write as you see fit. No one is grading you on punctuation, spelling, or sentence structure so do not get caught up in the formality of writing. You can even add pictures or doodles on your pages if it helps you express your feelings. The other guideline to follow is that you are not allowed to bash yourself with negative writings. It is acceptable to write about your bad day or the mistake you made at work, however, do not bash yourself with comments such as "I am so stupid" or "I am too ugly". If these journal entries show up occasionally, especially at the start of your writing journey, it is acceptable. Just move on and do not beat yourself up over it, but keep at it and try to improve over time. Thus, the style of language used within the text was often industry specific and possessed a more academic feeling. For example, in the text I often used abbreviations and slang acceptable within the discourse such as, SCM Supply chain management, KPI Key performance indicator, and RDT Resource dependence. Imagine white sand in between your toes as you drink coconut milk fresh from the tree as waves crash ten feet in front of you. You're on a beach lounging in the sun while your friends are falling asleep in language arts. As a thirteen year old boy I got the chance to go and spend a week on the tropical island of Maui with my grandparents. I had to save up some money to get to go and by working all that summer I finally saved enough money.
