Argumentative Essay Childcare
"14.2 million children under age 13 met federal requirements for child–care subsidies in 2011–2012. Of that number, 8.6 million were eligible under state policies. Yet only 1.5 million children actually received the subsidies. That means only 10.6 percent of the number of children meeting federal guidelines actually get the subsidy" (Davidson 2017). The question that will be answered throughout this paper is, how accessible is childcare in the United States? Child care is the care of children by a day–care center, babysitter, or other provider while parent/ parents/ or legal guardian is working. The median household income for the United States is $53,8895 (Census Bureau) and the average cost of childcare is between $10,000 and $16,000 (Hamm 2015). This means that childcare can cost families making the median income 30% of their annual income. Given that this is the median household income, half of households have an income that is below this costing them more than 30% of their income. The United States has excellent child care that is affordable for some, however, most low–income families are unable to afford it.
Child care is incredibly important for the youth because has been proven to improve children's development. Early childhood education has a countless number of benefits, including more equitable long–term outcomes for children of diverse economic backgrounds. Additionally, investing in these benefits early on helps create future workforce, secure long–term

Everyday we are eating food with artificial flavors and colors that are just chemicals that make people want to eat them more. So many of the kids of today are being encouraged that artificial flavors are good to eat . We are teaching our kids to eat unhealthy rather than healthy.
The reason why kids are eating so much artificial flavored food is because they are being told that artificial flavors are okay to eat. Many of the kids don't eat vegetables or fruit. They rather be eating artificial red, blue, orange, pink, purple, green etc. colors because they are so pretty.
Kids that eat artificial chemicals are more likely to get diabetes than kids that eat healthy. They are not going to be as fit as kids who eat healthy. Kids should be encouraged
Persuasive Essay On Daycare
Leaving your child with someone else as you head off to work every day is not easy: As a parent, chances are, you long to be with your child 24/7. This is especially true for new parents. However, once maternity leave has ended, even mom must return to work. While there are several child care options available, one of the best options available is daycare. That said, choosing the daycare center that suits the needs of your family best will require a bit of research.

Are the toys provided age–appropriate and in good shape? Ask about daily activities: These activities should include talking, singing, dancing, reading and on–the–floor playtime.
2. Security
Any daycare that you choose should have a locked door policy. This ensures that your child cannot just roam around the neighborhood. Ideally, only staff members, individuals touring the facility and adults who are dropping off or picking up their children should be allowed in the center. All adult visitors need to be closely monitored, including you!
3. Age–Group Separation
Toddlers and older children should not be mingling with babies who are under the age of 12–months. Toddlers can be highly–spirited and somewhat unsteady on their feet. In addition, they have yet to master the art of being gentle with infants.
4. A Clean, Healthy Setting

Persuasive Essay On My Kids
Do I put my kids in daycare or not? Here's the thing: it cost a lot, like an arm and a leg a lot! And the prices are always rising. You also never know if you can fully trust a person to watch your children. Bad things happen all the time with daycares. Sometimes your kids are just brats and you don't want anyone else to have to deal with them because it can be embarrassing the way they may act.
First thing's first, let's talk about our kids. Now let's be honest, we all know our kids are not perfect angels all the time. And sometimes during those bad times we just want to strangle them, but we can't because that's called child abuse and is illegal in all 50 states. Do we really want some stranger watching our kids and judging our parenting skills?
Along with our bratty kids, let's talk about this stranger watching our children and secretly or openly judging us. Who...show more content...
The daycares and babysitters are making a ton of money off of busy parents! I have looked into an in–home daycare to put my youngest kid in so I can work during the day, and they wanted 1200 dollars per month to watch her. Most, if not all, of the money that I would make working would just go to daycare alone.
Now do the math here: the max number of kids per California state law that any person can watch is 12, not including their own children. That equals to about 14,400 dollars per month, give or take. I cannot and will not pay 1,200 dollars per month! I would just be working to put my child in daycare and not be able to pay my bills. It's just not worth it.
My solution is to stay at home with the kids and deal with the good and the bad moods. I can deal with not getting a break from the kids until my husband is home. I can save my money and not worry about some strange person and what they will or wouldn't do with my children. I will enjoy the memories that I'll make while I'm doing that safely at
Persuasive Essay On Raising Children
In today's society people have evolved in many ways, especially regarding raising children. Becoming a parent is a honor and privilege that shouldn't be taken for granted. Parents should always keep in mind that patience is most important thing to give a child other than unconditional love. Also parents should make time during the early to young adolescent stages of the child to focus on teaching responsibility, compassion, and fairness. However, there is a rising problem that parents lack the motivation, confidence and education when parenting. Parents have become heavily dependent on technology and utilize it to occupy the child so the parent won't have to worry about teaching.
Instead of becoming solely dependent on technology, parents should research and find ways to be more interactive and bond with the children. By this doing this, the children will feel the noticed and want to confide in the parent. Expressing unconditional love to children is easier for some, however; parents do not need to become a best friend to their children; they should establish structure and expectations to help the children strive to do and be better. The parents also need show responsibility and good manners by being a role model of how they want the children to learn and grow. Cathey Netherwood from
Learning to be Responsible states that," the quality of responsibility is both attitude and a skill".(1) Parents should also illustrate what they expect from the children through their

Helicopter Parenting Essay
There are many different ways to parent your kids, and every kid is different. There are also very many different opinions on how you raised and brought up your kid and how it will affect the child in the long run. Some people let their kids do what they want when they want while others never let them do anything unless they are right there to step in. Everyone is different and some need it more than others but for the average kid less is sometimes better. Helicopter parenting can be helpful in some cases if that is what your child needs. These days there are so many things that kids have to worry about such as school and jobs and everything else we have to do in our busy lives. The hardest thing as a parent is to just stand there and watch your kid struggle and or fail. But also the last thing we need is the added pressure from our parents. Kids may see your help as they were not good enough to do it on their own or that you do not have to confidence in them to let them do it. In recent studies it has shown that the added stress from helicopter parents make our lives worse than what it would be if they just left us alone and let us take care of what we needed to on our own. Especially when it comes to our academic habits. When we are in elementary school all the way up through high school parents like to be there and have a saw in all of our schooling. But when we go off and go to college we no longer know how to take care of own self because our parents have always been

Those of us with larger broods don't get the credit we deserve. Raising kids is tough, arguably the hardest job on the planet. As a mom of four, I don't hear what a blessing I have, or that they always wanted a big family. But there are common questions parents of multiples do get; are they all yours? You don't look old enough to have kids. Are they twins? Are they all the same father? Did you mean to have so many?

This is partly because it was gorgeous out and partly because I got lost and didn't tell them. We explored Battery Park and walked Rainbow Row, two places which we had never gone. My favorite part was when I was asked if this (pointing to my kids) was a field trip. I laughed and said no, but I have been considering getting my commercial drivers license. As for the hostess at a local restaurant who asked if I was babysitting, the registration person at the doctors office, the unsuspecting folks in the check out who silently are mustering up the courage to ask the age old question. Persuasive Essay On Having A Child
Growing up having kids is something that you simply assume would happen. It was never even a question you always knew that one day you would be a parent and that having kids seemed like a natural step in becoming an adult. Your thoughts are to meet someone, get married, and eventually have children.Sometimes life doesn't work out that way. Many women have trouble conceiving depending on age and how the body reacts to developing a child. Some people don't have to try to get pregnant but others aren't so lucky they have to continue to try until your results come out positive, so to speak. But trying to conceive and failing after many attempts can be overwhelming and frustrating always trying to stay positive that this time will work. It's important to start the process of finding out what test's you have to take to know if you're able to have children; and what are options for infertility.
Many women feel hesitant to discuss their difficulties with conceiving and carrying babies to term, fearing embarrassment, judgment from others, or simply other people's awkward or inappropriate responses.10 percent of women (6.1 million) between the ages of 15– 44 in the U.S. struggle getting pregnant according to the (CDC) Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

For most kids, a school day is about seven hours long and most of us have a lot of after–school activities or participate in clubs while, others have jobs or are on sports teams. By the time they are finished with the school day and their activities, there isn't enough time to complete their homework assignments and study for test and quizzes. Instead, they are too focused on getting it done as fast as they can so they can receive a decent grade for it, and we don't receive any educational value from it by rushing. With the change of having 4 days of school instead of 5, kids would benefit by this because they have extra time to prepare for tests, understanding the material more by taking their time on homework and lastly they wouldn't be

Now, I'm not saying you have to be a professional gold–medalist bodybuilder, but I propose that parents should sign their kids up for at least 1 sport monthly, whether it be soccer or basketball, or (mine personally) swimming. Many sports have good benefits, like possible weight loss, and most sports encourages skills like teamwork and good hand–eye coordination. But putting your child in a competitive team is pretty good, and from my experience, now I'm slightly more competitive. Putting your child on a competitive team will also teach them to push themselves and be more aggressive, which is a good thing, especially in sports. One of the big problems to parents is how much time kids spend on electronics. But sports have all different practice times, leading to having less free time, but still enough to do whatever the child may do. And speaking of time, having different practice times definitely will help with time management. I should know, because I am constantly trying to juggle swimming 5 days a week at all different times, my little free time to draw/play video games, and the varied amounts of homework and projects that 7th grade gives me. Finally, I'm pretty sure you don't have to be a genius to know that almost ⅓ of our population in America is overweight or obese. Sports after a while tend to cut down on weight, and from my personal experience, I am a swimmer, and swimming is really tough but it does really cut down on your weight, which is why I suggest you could join swimming. It also teaches could coordination, as the butterfly stroke takes a lot of coordination and
Persuasive Essay: Screen Time For Children

Many people have a fear of children spending too much time in front of screens. Screen time isnt always a bad thing though. Technology has improved throughout the years, and it's no longer necessary to fear it. Screen use and technology have been proven to be essential parts of our everyday life. Are Smartphones good for children Smartphones have grown in number across all ages as the years have passed, especially with younger children in middle and elementary school. Every time that I go out to eat I see a family with a kid that looks about the age of a elementary school student that the parents just give them their phone to keep them quiet. But is that a good problem solver or bad, like in school, is it ok to have elementary students use smartphones in class. Some parents believe that children in elementary school should have smartphones in class if it will help, whereas some believe that they should not because it will just be a distraction. In an article called "Smartphones" from Opposing Viewpoints Online Collection, Gale, 2016. Opposing Viewpoints in Context, they believe that smartphones can be really good for everyone including kids but may also be a distraction. Mainly, the article says that smartphones are the cause of a lot of problems that are happening to kids like cheating during quizzes, tests, or exams. Smartphones can also aide child narcissism through them taking selfies, and might be the main cause of cyber bullying, because when kids take selfies, no one really knows how other people will react to the photo on social media which may also cause anxiety to some people who are afraid of being bullied because of how they look in their picture. When kids spend more time on their phones, it could result in less physical activity outside of school and increases the rate of overweight elementary students in the united states. However, Smartphones can be used for medicinal through apps that track your steps throughout the day to helping someone understand CPR or remember the steps to CPR in a very important moment that could save someone's life. Also, smartphones can benefit classrooms in big way if used correctly and if monitored by teachers and staff, but could also be very distracting and a worse way of cheating if not done correctly. Smartphones can benefit classroom learning experiences because they can help students on homework at home by allowing them to lookup any answers that they need, but this could be bad if that is all they do to just get answers and not do any work.

Kids in sports shouldn't receive trophies for participating in sports. Children who participate in activities such as sport and music, earn trophies just for taking part in it. Ribbons, trophies, and medals are handed out at the end of the season to everyone children, to make everything fair. But, is this really fair to everyone? Just because they participated and showed up to some practices, doesn't mean they deserve it. It wouldn't be fair giving an award to a player who demonstrated a bad attitude on those rare occasions she or he actually showed up. In an article Ashley Merryman said "The benefit is improving. When you're constantly giving a kid a trophy for everything they're doing. You're saying 'I don't care about improvement. I don't

Persuasive Essay On Children
Remember the good old days? As children running around town and going to Casey's to cause a ruckus, or going to Lake Viking to pass the time? We were smiling, joyful, and content, allowed to dream about the future. Never once considering where our next meal would come from, unlike 13 million children in America going hungry each year. As a society, we waste money, time, and, most importantly, food. Most of the time focusing on ourselves, our families, and our friends, not giving a second thought to anyone else. Often, we do not realize the effects that our actions have on others in our community. We keep on being selfish, instead of selfless. The problem with America is that most of us lack the responsibility or dedication to provide food for our families. This ad features an adult woman, Viola Davis, who was part of the one out of five children in America with hunger struggles. Everything in the ad has cheerful colors, the woman, the children, and the message by using blues, greens, and pinks. The three children and Ms. Davis are placed in front of a chalkboard background with the children leaning on a wooden table. The words are written in a simple white chalk in a cursive font stating, "I was one of the 1 in 5 Children in America who STRUGGLE WITH HUNGER join me and help put an End to childhood Hunger. Viola Davis." Three words stand out, "STRUGGLE WITH HUNGER" because they are written in a bold, straight font, all capitalized, and underlined. Ms. Davis also emphasized certain words by capitalizing the words with impact. The slogan that the ad used is "HUNGER IS ALL OF US," using the coral, pink color for all of the words except for the "UN" in hunger in a light blue. The entire slogan is circled with the same pinkish color and the words are all underlined with the same light blue. The children are smiling, since she is helping to end childhood hunger in America. The goal of her foundation is to improve the health of hungry children in America. This foundation, called Hunger Is, is sponsored by both The Safeway Foundation and The Entertainment Industry Foundation.
People are too reliant on others to be able to take on the responsibility of feeding their children. They depend on others to take care of
