My Experience As A Social Worker
Since my experience as a Social Worker has mainly been focused with the youth population, during the course of my career I had to develop very creative skills to engage such population. They experienced inevitable unremitting stress, such as poverty, failing education and exposure to community and interpersonal violence, being aware or pay attention to a task, was very difficult to them. I have done my work with a lot a passion, but since I started the CMF Program, I gained a level of awareness that also gave me a much needed compassionate space for my own suffer and made me get closer to my identity and purpose. I realized that presence is cultivated by practicing being mindful in the smallest occasion, being connected with intention and always requesting an invitation to create a space where relationships and connections occur. It's about the quality of our attention, and the quality of our thoughts. Without being aware, we create and reproduce structures of domination and biases, by blocking personal growth and continuing marginalization. I have worked on a very real communication, not patronizing my ideas, or hide my weakness. I try vigilantly to praise and appreciate the common human sensitivity, and have an appreciation to see the how the awareness development occurs on the participants that come to my meetings. I have refreshed my skills as a facilitator by always paying attention on how I make my presence to others. I have tried to meet my clients, friends,

I didn't choose what my work placement was to be. I turned up at Miss Franklin's office nervously hoping that I would get a good placement. She sat me down and looked through some documents. She pulled a wad out and told me that she had found a convenient work placement. She showed me the letters, and the title was BUPA Hospital, Marketing Department, Bushey. The first thought that sprang into my head was, how tedious. Then I took some time to think about the ups and downs of it. I do live in Bushey and it is not even five minutes drive from my house. Also my business studies coursework is about marketing so I might gain some useful knowledge that would help me with that.

I realised that mine might not be as exciting or eventful as theirs but I considered that my placement might be a more useful experience for later life.
My mother is friendly with quite a lot of people who work at BUPA. She spoke to quite a close friend of hers who answers to my supervisor and was told that she is a great lady and I would have a lot of fun with her. My mother was also told that there could be a chance of a part–time job after school and on Saturdays. This inspired me to work really hard for them in order try to impress everyone.
I had not done any research into the company apart from a brief look at their web site but I felt that I knew sufficient information for a preliminary interview. I hoped to learn some very important life skills and gain some great experience, which would be of use to me in later life. I was hoping to gain work on computer skills, as I feel I am competent in this area and could impress if I were to be given the chance. As I did not know a great deal about marketing I was keen to gain as much knowledge as possible and hospital marketing is a field of its own.
On the whole I looked forward to the week it would be a good experience that should teach me some useful skills.
I was to work in an office with just the Marketing Manager and the Assistant
My First Job Experience
My First Job Experience
"Winning is important to me, but what brings me real joy is the experience of being fully engaged in whatever I'm doing." says Phil Jackson, a former American professional basketball player. People always whine about how their first job experience was terrible and there's only one reason which is not getting enough amount of money for their work. I think people need to think that job is not always about money as I discovered from my first job.

The workplace was always very clean, which also created a nice environment around me to focus on my work. That's really a good thing because a nice working environment keeps me safe, healthy, and gives me more energy to do my work. This company was also very well organized.
I feel I was one of the lucky one who got a job in very nice and organized company. I received a good salary, had a nice working environment and was given respect by other employees which were really amazing despite being the youngest employee. When I entered in this job, I knew nothing. I was completely inexperienced and unskilled worker but after working here, this job helped me to improve my working skills such as how to communicate with people around me, never try to be hypocrite, stay calm and focus only on my work. Having a job also taught me to value my own work, and what I put into something. As my mother said, this job also taught me how to handle my responsibilities by myself. I became responsible for some of my own expenses. This was a valuable experience for me. I learned the value of the money and taking my own decisions about what I spend my money on. On Short, I feel that if a person works just for the sake of money then there's no point of working. Yes, money is important but no person can enjoy the work if that person is only working there for the sake of

It all began when my tutor informed us that we have to find our work placements for the two weeks of work experience. When we were first told about work experience I thought to my self 'great no school for two weeks.' I was looking forward to looking around places and trying to figure out what and where I wanted to do my work experience. I personally enjoy things associated with Sports and helping people so I wanted to do something along these lines. I started looking around areas of work I could look into, and then phoned up some of these places to see if they did work experience in advance. I found that many of the places I wanted to do work experience at did have...show more content...
I kept telling my self that I had plenty of time left and that I would find a placement eventually (which in my case was almost never!). I was now back at school and did nothing over the half term. My parents were nagging me to get my placement sorted, as well as my tutor and Mrs. Lunan! I decided I had to do something now or I will have nothing to do; I got out the yellow pages out and the first pages I looked at were the Sports Centres. The first place I thought of ringing was Harrow Leisure Centre; they said I could get a placement and told me that I had to have a C.V. I did as they had asked but when I got there; I was waiting for about thirty minutes before the head of work experience saw me. He then told me that I would not be able to do work experience there as all the placements had been taken. At this point, I was annoyed as they had not told me this over the phone and made me wait for thirty minutes doing nothing, also I had to walk there in such short notice (I hate walking)! This was the second time I had been messed about like this and I was furious! At this point, I did not want to go to work experience as I got the impression that people were rude and inconsiderate and I did not want to work with people like this.
It was now June and I still felt the same, but it was becoming clear to me that I had to find a placement in the next few days
Importance Of Work Experience
There has been an increase in number of students who have participated in work experience over the years, this can be mainly due to the fact that work experience has been heavily promoted by universities and employers. However, undergraduates still lack the proper understanding of the true benefit work experience offers as they view work experience as a chore rather than a valuable experience. Therefore, the range of academia explored in this essay demonstrates the necessity of work experience within undergraduates in order to expand skills, assets and prospects that they can use after graduation. This essay explores evidence that supports the three main benefits of work experience, which are; increasing students' awareness of different...show more content...
Also, this will create further issues in the future as those who lack career planning could have trouble transitioning into work (Isherwood, S. 2017), meaning that work experience helps to create a stress– free future in career context. However, The Guardian suggests that undergraduates do not have to worry about career planning due to the emergence of gig economy and portfolio career, where graduates do not stick to a singular career, which High Fliers fails to take into account. This reduces the reliability of High Fliers' statement as they have disregarded modern trends in employment, implying that their research into work experience takes an outdated approach. Consequently, work experience may help give students an idea of which career to follow but there is lack of concrete evidence that supports this link.
Furthermore, work experience helps with providing students with valuable skills that will become advantageous in their future career. This is because work experience can help students gain skills that are appealing to employers (Isherwood, S. 2017). It has been found that interns rated their work experience as providing a higher level of career preparation (Gault, J. et al. 2000), which further reinforces the prior statement. In Gault, J et al study, they analysed and
My Personal Experience With Working With A Group
Working in groups is important for our communication in life. Things that we experience can be the way for our improvement in communication with other, weather they were from a different culture, gender, and many factors. In my paper I will analyze my personal experience with working with a group from many different perspectives. Thru a period, I have learned so many different things. Weather it was my groups communication, development, Membership, Diversity, and leadership. I'm going to cover every aspect of these giving topics, and explain how my group and I developed and gone thru all of them First to begin with, Group communication. The first time I met my group it was a bet awkward for me as well for them. We were kind of quit and just introduced our selfs to each other. With a little bet of time, we established to get more information about each other that helped our communication and got us thru the awkwardness. At the end of our first meeting as a group, we exchanged numbers and emails. One of the pros thru the process that my group members were friendly after we got to know a bit about everyone and that made it easier for as us a group to improve communication. They seemed like they want to work as a team. I was afraid that my lack of experience regarding group communication would be one of my biggest cons and that it would affect my groups as well. However, I surpassed my fear and focus on making good expressions. Secondly, my group development. At the
Job Experience Essay
Nearly seven years ago, when I started working for the local DirecTV installation company, it wasn't exactly a dream come true. I had the aptitude for it, having worked previously as a home theatre installer back in Kansas City, but this job was much easier by comparison. What made this job less than desirable were the hot attics, damp crawlspaces where I wasn't always the only thing crawling around and the loose eaves near ideal dish mounting locations that were often home to swarms of hornets.
Less than a week into the job I was offered a promotion of sorts. They needed inspectors to verify that things were done correctly at several installation locations each week and they wanted someone who hadn't been around long enough to make...show more content...
The best part of this situation for me was the pay. I was making $12.50 per inspection. That's over $1500 per week! Despite the great pay, I had been unemployed for nearly a month before starting this job and because of tool costs to get started hadn't taken home much during my first week as an installer. The first paycheck I received had an error in it. I was told by my Manager at the Paducah Office to call the corporate office and talk to payroll directly and they would handle it. I regularly heard new employees being told, "Call payroll and ask for an advance", not just due to pay errors, but also to cover the startup costs of tools and ladders. This advice would soon lead to disaster.
For the first time in several months I was going to Atlanta, Georgia to visit my daughter for the weekend. I had received one puny paycheck and one nice one, but had spent everything to get caught up on bills that had accumulated during my unemployment. So, I did what experience and observation had taught me to do, I called payroll and asked for a relatively small advance to cover my weekend trip. Without incident a check showed up at the office the next day and my wife and I were off for a fun weekend with my daughter. It wasn't until late the next week that all hell began to break loose.
I was on the road somewhere in Southern Illinois when I received an angry call from the district manager inquiring why I had "bypassed" him and gone
Working Experience is More Important than Education
It's been a question that society has debated for a long time. Does education or work experience provide the most benefits and therefore hold more importance for children and society as a whole? Many people believe that it's the most important for children to spend time becoming highly educated so that they can obtain great jobs. Others believe that children and adults should gain work experience instead because this will lead to better jobs. Both sides have their benefits and their support. However it's the goal of this paper to inform that work experience plays a larger, and more important role in the ability of children to grow and adults to locate a job upon their graduation or...show more content...
The person with work experience will know what it's like working in a real kitchen or a real garage instead of just what it should be like according to a manual. Learning or knowing in theory how something works (which is all that you can learn from education) does not give you the skills necessary to actually go out and do the job.
The next important thing to focus on when deciding between education and work experience is time. An employer will hire someone new for a job because they need more workers. They need an additional person that can help them to do whatever that job is and they need it to be done quickly. They don't hire people just to have extras on hand.
According to Steph (2011), if someone is hired that only has the education and no work experience they won't be able to do what needs done when it's time to get their hands dirty. Someone with experience will need to show them what to do (L., 2011). That means the person with experience will not be working like they normally would and the educated person will also not be performing any work. Both of these people will be taking up time and not producing anything at all. This is definitely not what an employer wants when they hire new workers but it's what they get when they choose higher education over increased work experience.
Another important factor is money. In the business world, time is money. Everyone has heard this little slogan before and that's because it's true. If someone

The scent of fresh waffles, sound of radio pop music, light from the open sign. Just another long day at work. Everything is just like the usual. Restock utensils, greet customers, take orders, collect payments, and clean up. At seventeen, wanting to save up for my post–secondary tuition, I decided to work a part time job alongside school. I thought that not only does it give me money, it can also give me valuable work experience. Working at a part time job sounds like a perfect opportunity for me. Also, I began to know my coworkers better, and I get to spend more time with my friend there. Moreover, after knowing how the store functions and learning all the menu items, the work became easier as well. I started to really enjoy this job despite getting some wrist injuries from scooping ice cream.
Then, something happened. It was near the end of my 11–hour shift on a Sunday. It was quite busy as it was a hot summer night. The line was almost to the outside of the door while there was only two of us working. A man and his son walked in. They stood there and stared at the menu for a while.

This was not the case.

I had accepted to do two weeks of work experience at the Boots Pharmacy, as a shop floor sales assistant. To be honest, I had no idea what the firm manufactured or the type of work involved.
I woke up on a Monday morning, prepared and organized, which was incredibly unusual. I was extremely enthusiastic about the prospect of working. As I sat on the H91 bus with my mp3 music player on, questions kept coming across my head like, 'what will it be like?' And 'what will people think of me?' I wasn't really anxious but more excited. The first thing I did after that was to walk around the pharmacy segment of the store. As I was walking around the store, the security man asked my name, I replied "John". He then asked me "how old are you"? I responded "15", the shocked man said "no way! You look like the new store Manager". I couldn't help myself from laughing and replied, "I'm here on work experience". I then suddenly saw Nina so I stopped my conversation because I didn't want to create a bad impression.
She took me to the head pharmacist, Mrs Kapoor. She was quiet a tall women with black hair and hazel eyes. She appeared to be a kind lady and seemed pleased that I hade come along because they were short of staff. Mrs Kapoor then introduced me to the members of staff I would be working with. I had come to this work experience, expecting to do something in the medicine line. Unfortunately I was on the wrong end of that line. Instead of actually learning how medicine is made and separated, I was stacking a whole load of drugs and men's deodorant. After about two minutes I was seriously bored, and this was just the first hour out of the eighty I had to do.
After my eventful and hard working first day, I arrived in the next day felling utterly miserable. Nina

I wasn't that smart in maths and was also a bit careless. To be honest when I grow up I wanted to be a lawyer. But I'm sure, again, on my first day they won't let me exactly sort out a case will they? No, I didn't think so. They would make it sound hard and probably give me papers to read. I know it sounds stupid, but I just want to be a lawyer. I don't want to sit and study for 5 years in college or university; I just wanted to be a lawyer. I had been watching too many movies and it's tempting. Movies like, Legally Blonde or similar types, makes it sound like being a lawyer is fun and no actual hard work is needed. But I knew that was impossible! Out of my three options, I chose the primary school.
My overall experience working in Carlton Primary School was quite good. I had lots of fun during the week. I never expected it to be like that. I walked to school and arrive there at 8:30am, feeling nervous. Questions buzzed in my mind, like what if they don't like me? What if they say I look funny? What if they laugh at my clothes? You wouldn't expect someone to be fully excited in there first placement would you? I was excited but had a nervous feeling inside too. But as usual, everything went great! I was introduced to the children and they all seem to like me, they were a bit quite and shy on my first day there, but after that, it's like they've known me for years! When I was told that I would be doing my work experience at Belleview nursing home, working with old sick people I found that it was a very daunting prospect. After my first day there, that had all changed.
I made my way to work on Monday 6th of June by the service bus at 8.30am to be at my workplace by 9.00am. The thought of meeting new people and trying to act mature in an environment I was not sure of scared me. She made me feel sad for her but feeling sorry for the patients doesn't help in the caring profession. Therefore I had to focus on the job I was there to do.
As my week progressed at the nursing home, so did my capabilities I grew more confident in the tasks I was being asked to perform. I was beginning to feel part of the team. Getting to know my work mates on a daily basis made me feel that any problems I would be facing with the patients would be quickly diminished by simply asking for help on anything I wasn't sure of.
I began helping with the bathing, dressing, feeding and aiding them with their toilet needs. Although the patients were old not all of them were ill, therefore they needed exercise and showing them exercise videos where we all joined in. This made it a fun time for them, thus making their day much more bearable. My days here were passing quickly in the workplace as the patients kept me busy. They all had different and special

He greets my arrival keenly, but promptiously, and commands the staffs to give me a brief tour and talk about the different places and daily working procedures of the store. The staffs who gave me the tour seems to be more caring and willing to answer my doubted queries, comparing to the boss, who was always busy and promptious at scrutinating the state of store, and checking the store finance balance. I was quickly given my first tasks, after the tour. It shock me hearing that the tasks I've been given involve vastly of manual work, instead of more academic work, relevant to my present experience and knowledge, that I gain in school. My Experience Of Team Work
Description In this report I will reflect upon my experience of team work both whilst on clinical placement and during my time at University demonstrating how my experiences will improve my future practice. I have chosen Gibbs reflective cycle (1988) as I find this model easily accessible and an effective form of reflection that fits my reflective style (See appendix one). Team work has been defined as a group of people sharing a common goal which can only be achieved by appropriate combinations of individual activities and also a species of cooperation (Gold, 2005). I believe team work to be a vital part of clinical practice as it can improve the quality of care as well as shortened treatment times which is vital in the health care sector. Leggat (2007) proposes how no single health care professional can deliver a complete healthcare experience and acknowledges the crucial role individuals have within teams. The flying start initiative (appendix 2) provides evidence supporting successful attributes required within a multi–disciplinary team (Flying start, 2014). Previous to this Frith–cozen (2001) suggests the effect of teamwork on mortality rates within hospitals, showing that teamwork is of the upmost importance as it can reduce the rate of mortality when teamwork is effective.
When deciding what makes a good team, I believe that a large part is the contribution of individual members and also the communication between members. I have learnt

4. Reflection On My Working Experience
Reflective practice is a key way of learning from the experience, it allows to overview the past experience from a different perspective and take actions to benefit it to yourself. Basically, the reflective practice covers a gap between theory and practice that helps to create a strategy for learning and improving (Jasper, 2003). Therefore, an understanding of reflective theories is a key aspect that I should develop before my graduation.
In the academic community the most beneficial reflective theories are Gibbs' Reflective Cycle (1988) and Rolfe et al. (2010) Reflective Model, see Figure 2 and 3 in Appendix III. In this report, I will use these two theories to reflect on my internship in Nolta–Tur.

My written communication and foreign language skills (Estonian and German) were improved when one of the staff members asked me to write emails to organisations with commercial and business purposes. Moreover, that experience has helped me to discover how important a business writing skill
Work experience versus a college education. Which of these two is best in helping you to land a better paying job? Many college graduates may argue that having an Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree is an essential key to landing a top paying job. People with work experience and skills argue theyhave an edge over someone with a degree that has no real–worldwork experience. They believe this gives them an opportunity for a better paying job.Plus, people with work experience do not have to deal with the added student debt that comes with acquiring such degrees.

Reflective Essay On Work Experience
I am a person who values experience and application over all other forms of education. I value the sweat of work and the "aha"–moments of figuring out a project over the memorization of flashcards and countless jotting of notes. For me, legitimate work experience in a field you love is what lends validation to the hours of lecture spent on learning a topic. Throughout my time in high school, I've held and completed several internships and jobs that have allowed me to fortify and build upon the skills I've learned throughout my life. Additionally, I have been exposed to drastically different types of work environments. Through these environments, I have been able to meet multitudes of different personalities and people who have all helped me be comfortable in addressing many different issues in countless situations. I am not just a blue, white, or pink collar worker: I am all three. I am a white collar worker. I spent the summer of my tenth–grade year in an intensely air–conditioned closet that had a glorious view of Stamford, CT. I shared that room with three to five people a day, but that was okay because it truly was a big closet. Only two or three people stuck around in that room on a day to day basis. This circulation of workers worked in my favor because it allowed me to meet people from all different types of backgrounds. When I had downtime, they would occasionally help me by providing me with random tips about the giant project I was instructed to complete by the
Reflection On Work Experience
Throughout the course of my workplace practices class I have participated in a consisted of completing assignments and work experience regarding my career pathways. As I look back and reflect on my time at this course, I am able to explore the graduate qualities and capabilities I have achieved over the duration of this study period, as well as the skills and abilities I need to improve on. Graduate qualities are skills that have been learned by students throughout the course of their schooling life, for example, it is a learning outcome of a program specifically stating the things that's been learned by students who have completed that program of study. In this reflection, I will be discussing about my strength and weakness personal...show more content...
Furthermore, preparing and packing the café every morning and afternoon depended on how well we worked as team, for example helping another worker when you have finished you own workload. My main strength in this whole course would be my personal development, as I was able to gain my own skills, attitudes, and knowledge, such as my technological skills for example, how to source useful information that is relevant to my work. Another example is becoming more confident about myself, as I am able to freely express my emotion without thinking of any sort of limitation that will limit my progress of taking risks for the fear of failure.
Reflecting on the Graduate Qualities and Capabilities Framework, I still feel the need to improve on my communication, planning and organisation skills. It is evident to me that these qualities are my weakest qualities that need to be enhanced. I think I am lacking in these qualities, as I do not participate in any school or outside school co–curricular activities anymore. This is due to me not being organised, as I do not set a straight direction for myself to follow. I am also a very introverted person when it comes to communicating with people. Planning a set of task for myself to achieve can be hard to follow at times, however I am persistent enough to get it done. I am able to improve on my communication skills by becoming more involved with the society around me, such as volunteering to help in
Work Experience Essay
Work Experience
Work experience was an opportunity for me, and many other year 10 students across the country to experience a different world, a world outside school, a world of work. To many this was a new opportunity, a challenge if you like, but to me it wasn't all that new as I have worked for my dad at his work far from few times before. I found that working for my dad was challenging, sometimes difficult, but I always managed to get the work done and get that feel of self achievement. The feeling of self achievement is a wonderful feeling, some may say better than sex, I wouldn't go that far, but it is good.

I did quite like her at the time, so I spent some time talking to her. After about a hour I took the food back to work and ate my lunch. That was about the highlight of my first day.
For the next four days I had random little jobs that gave me no sense of self achievement what so ever, but I suppose that's life.
That Friday I got home from work and received a phone call from Nick, a good friend, I say good friend, I really mean someone who I tolerate, it turned out that he had a little business proposition for me, it didn't start off as a business proposition but I soon found away to make money out of it. He wanted to get rid of his computer, and seeing as I was working at Dunmow Computers I knew a guy that might want to buy it, I negotiated a price with Nick and finally got him down to one hundred pounds. I went into work on the Monday and I asked this guy I knew, who happened to be my boss,

Essay about My Work Experience
My Work Experience
I went on work experience for a week in June at Natwest Bank in Bakewell. Natwest is part of a larger organisation called the Royal Bank of Scotland Group. The Royal Bank of Scotland bought Natwest in March 2000 for £21 billion which was the biggest take–over in British banking history. Natwest is a national company and very well known so I felt quite privileged to work for them. Also the Bakewell branch was of a very high standard of service from the checks they get every month as I was shown the data of this when I went to visit them. I worked with many different people, such as the manager, cashier, client interviewer and the receptionist. The people I worked with were very helpful and kind to me helping me in every way they could. The manager was especially kind to me and made me feel welcome and part of the bank as soon as I arrived.
I think a made a helpful contribution to the bank and always did what I was asked to do without any hesitation and no complaints. I enjoyed doing every task I was set and especially when I was set to audit the bank's appearance over the week I was there, by filling in the "Topbox Service" in. It made me feel as if I was helping the bank and that they trusted me to give me this responsibility. I learnt about how a bank runs and learnt many new skills at me placement and these were:
· How to use a photocopier
· How to use a fax machine
· How to cashier
· How to use the Natwest computer system
· What accounts could be given to people
· How the alarms works
· How to fill in a stationary and printed order form
· How to key in Cash exchange forms into the Natwest computer
· How to fill the ATM up
· How to count and bag
