Beach Descriptive Essay
The beach is known for being a place to relax; the beach I went to was a run–of–the–mill beach, tan sand with rocks next to an aqua sea, I was there with my Mother and family on a cloudless day in summer 2009.Nevertheless we were on the beach, it was filled with umbrellas of all colors, filling the beach like a canvas with hundreds of strokes on it. Starting our trip started with setting up our blanket and umbrella so we could sit down to relax at the start, but we all wanted to head out and swim so I put on my yellow goggles and arm floaters with dolphins on them, heading into the water which was reasonably warm in 90 degree weather . We were fairly deep into the water, the goggles and arm floaters were making sure I kept above the water as well as not inhaling any, it was fun splashing my family or going underwater to test how far we could see which was four inches. Out of nowhere, my Mother had screeched "Just stand sideways, you'll be fine!",abruptly, I saw it towering over us, a shadow coming towards us, I started to run away, or at least make an attempt to. Fear consumes me ,my only thoughts were heading to shore where I would be safe from the wave, I barely went half a foot away before it grabbed me. It grabbed on, dragged me to the middle where I couldn't move up to inhale air or push myself off the bottom to jump, I was trapped under the water, waves above taunting knowing I was trapped. Water was running past , I started to feel a strong tug on my head, before I could realize what was going on, my goggles were dashing away with the water, but I could still open my eyes under the water without the sting of saline water in my eyes. Everything was a mushy brown color, all the sand started to be pulled up, mixing with the water, everything in front of and below me was turbid, but when I look up to see the surface of the water, it was shining, crystal clear even. For a bit wondered if I was gazing at Heaven and the wave was my ride to heaven, but the pain snapped me back to reality, black spots were flooding my vision while pain was wrapped around my chest. It had wrapped around me, began to trail down to my toes and rise to my head, it hurt so much, I started to feel tired,
Descriptive Writing On The Beach
As you walk on the rustic wooden bridge that leads to the never–ending sand on the shore of the Panama City Beach, you feel the bright sun beaming at you and hear the sounds of the thrashing waves against the gritty golden sand. The smell of the salty ocean and the burning sensation of the sand against the feet of those who forgot flip–flops are overwhelmed as they walk off the bridge. The sky is a never ending blue with occasional clouds and airplanes that pass by with commercials, and sometimes the chirping seagulls that scavenge for the sight of food. The beach is a place like no other with the crowds of people, the scenery of the water and the sky combined, and the trillions of small sand grains. The first thing that is seen by the naked eye is the magnificent site of the beach filled with crowds of people. When people walk on the old wooden bridge, there is the clutter of people who pose for the perfect photo of the vibrant colors of the ocean and the breeze that blows as soft as a baby. However, the sand on the beach is covered with blankets upon blankets of women tanning, children building sand castles, and men trying to relax and enjoy the vacation from the endless days of work. The children in an array of colorful swimwear build almost perfect sand castles, while others play in the water with boogie boards and rush against tides of the seaweed infested waters. As the eye is averted from the children to the sky, the colonies of seagulls are found, sitting atop
Beach Descriptive Essay
After lazily waking up, my family and I head to the beach to enjoy the brisk day. It's only around seventy–five degrees, but that doesn't falter our excitement for the beach. The sun shines through the clouds as we head down to pick a spot. The waves are calm and inviting as we lay our stuff down. The wind is moving through the beachgrass like a quiet whisper. The seagulls caw, and attempt to steal the snacks we brought. There's some kids playing in the water, but more are playing in the sand since the water's so cold. Days like this are quite typical at the beach in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
In Hilton Head, near Coligny Beach, the small village where we stay is quite somnolent. It seems like no one is ever awake before 9am. In the center of the sleepy town there's a Piggly Wiggly. Everyone goes in there to get their groceries and beach supplies. Next to it there's an ice cream shop, the Frozen Moo, which has some of the best ice cream I've ever had. The shop has at least ninety different flavors from Apple Pie to Rainbow Sherbet. There's a mural on the wall of cows surfing at the beach with brightly colored chairs and tables; going along with the cow theme, there's even a life size replica of a cow that they dress up for holidays. When walking into the town center, the beach is right across from it. The smell of the ocean air and breeze coming through the town almost hypothesizes you to move towards the waves. Since it's fairly cold in the morning, no one is ever there.
Creative Writing About A Beach
The beach has a certain power over me, to unwind and to let thoughts disappear from the cluttered mess inside my heads. The atmosphere can change the worst of days into the best. It might be the soft sounds of waves crashing, the salty breeze blowing through my hair and whipping on it back onto my face, the light beaming from the moon, or the feel of millions of grains of sand below on my feet. This unique combination of touch, sound, smell, sight, and taste creates an unmatched feeling of serenity at the beach. The moon, a glowing pearl perched up in the sky, beams down light onto my face as soft as a feather, in extreme contrast to the jet black sky. As I look up, the stars are scattered throughout the darkness like white Christmas lights hanging from the...show more content...
The taste is somewhat dirty, with little sand particles floating around. I gargle the cold water from the bottle and spit, until the rough sand has been washed out. Wiping my mouth on the back of my hand, I notice that there are still dry grains coating my lips. Still shivering, I sit back onto the sand that hasn't been affected by the chilled waves.
As I lazily look out in front of me, I notice the sounds I hadn't heard previously. The wind whistles from far over the ocean and I hear the leftover whisper that makes it to my ears. The lapping water slaps the shoreline and provides a welcome rhythm. I hold up a conch shell to my left ear, and become entranced by the echoing of the sea into the depths of the pink shell. I suddenly jump from the piercing sound of water bottle crackling when I accidentally rest my elbow on it.
Becoming tired, I lay down and look back up at the dark horizon. The sky is significantly lighter than it was when I first arrived to the beach. This signals that time has flown by as I got lost in awe of the scene laid out before me. I take one last look and make my way off the sand and onto the
Descriptive Essay On The Beach Clean Up
The majority of the things I did involved trash clean up. Me and my friends all went to these different venues, or rather locations and helped with the cleanup cause. What happened as we go there we had to put on gloves, we were provided plastic bags as well as these hooks which we used to pick up trash from the ground. For three hours we looked around the beaches or parks where we were stitone at and gathered trash. While this may sound very boring to begin with, the whole experience was very soothing as the general walks across the ocean front, along with my friends, make everything a lot more soothing. This was only for the beach clean up, for other activities like the planting different plants I felt more productive in that situation. According to the people there, they said that there was a certain type of caterpillar who were going there. These caterpillars needed these specific flowers to setup a cocoon and be ready for blooming into a butterfly in the spring. I thought this was much more interesting than the regular beach clean up due to the fact that in this situation we actually helped an endangered species from the overcrowding of a invasive species that was halting its growth. With a further prospering of the plants the butterflies can further live on and will be one step further away from endangerment.
Biology is the study of life. Everything i did the during my service hours involve me interacting with the environment in fear for your life around me. In biology we learned about how different things interact in environment, while I was at the beach I saw how the caterpillars kind of codependent on the plans that we are planting this was life. Moreover, we saw how we calculated in the environment or the region interacted with the plans. Also wish I had the invasive species, were interrupting the growth of the plants that the caterpillars were depended upon. While in the semester, the only plant related things that we learned about the plant cells in photosynthesis, we just learned about the different trophic levels. We learned about how with each level you go up or down vice versa you either gain or lose the lot of energy that was in the previous tropical lov while in the semester, the only plant
Descriptive Essay : A Trip To The Beach
The warm breeze of the ocean air flies past my face. The heat of the yellow sun was sizzling, beating down against my skin, tanning and burning it within seconds. Beach goers were crowded around in all directions. Seagulls gliding past the groups of people, scouting for dropped or forgotten food to eat. Their little footprints marking a trail in the sand all over the place, going in a million different directions, searching for their next meal. I take in the exquisiteness of it all, the blue–green waves crashing into the sandy shore, making white foam and bubbles wash into the sea, little boys and girls that are digging in the bright white sand running away from the small waves before they get wet. The beach is a stunning place to be; there's just something about the ocean waves and the sand between my toes that makes me just want to stay there forever. The sand was a scorching heat, it burned our feet as we eagerly walked down to the ocean shore. Sea oats (tallgrass important to sand dunes and beach plant life) and tiny red and black ants were seen everywhere, covering the sand until we got closer to the sea. Small pieces of bright seashells were scattered all over the place, cutting and poking our feet as we walked around. Cigarette butts and trash from past visitors littered the beautiful sand. The beach was deep, making our feet sink down with every step. Shoes made walking around the sand hard, as they would just get filled with the white sand and make our feet heavier to lift up from the ground. People were everywhere, their brightly colored umbrellas and towels covering the entirety of the beach, adults and kids alike were rushing out into the waves with colorful surfboards and animal floaties. My purple bag chair was sitting just in the right spot for the waves to flow up to my feet and back down again. After awhile, the sand that's being taken in from the soft waves starts sinking the chair legs down. The chair starts leaning forwards, almost completely knocking me into the wet, sticky sand. Brightly colored Seashells come floating up next to me with the crashing waves, where I am low enough to the ground that I can quickly scoop them up before the ocean takes them away again. The beach is full of
Descriptive Essay : A Trip To The Beach
They way I see things, life is different at the beach. Time doesn't move hour to hour, but moment to moment. We live by the whipping currents, play by the ever changing tides, and follow the direction of the yellow globe in the sky. In my experience, trips to the beach never fail to make my heart giddy and rid my life of any obstacles, at least temporarily. For me, looking out at the never–ending ocean is like looking through a special pair of glasses. I see the world with a different point of view. Everything seems peaceful and serene; nothing is too troubled and no one too anxious. A trip to the beach will completely overwhelm your senses. What do I get most anxious about when I go to the beach? Sprinting, tearing, racing to the ocean. Regarding nothing but the crystal blue, balmy, water and feeling pure contentment. But in my rush to get to the water, my care for the sights around me seem to slip my mind. I glance around, and at first sight one might see a few teenagers on summer break, in their Nemo colored swimsuits and shameless black sunglasses, gamboling around and bubbling with joy. You might see the few mothers daring enough to bring their giggling toddlers, in bright bubblegum pink hats that match the shade of their sweet, sunburnt, little, cheeks. Look around a little bit more. Open your eyes a little wider. Skim the surface of the water topped with chalky white foam and teeming with meager, little creatures of the sea whose shells spiral around like a staircase in the most grand of castles for the most grand of princesses. Watch the thick, waterlogged sand castles crash against the cozy, pristine sand beneath your feet. Scan the sky and take a minute to notice the alabaster white seagulls that cackle above your head and cheat french fries out of the hands of awestruck tourists. Stare out at the mysterious crashing waves and take note of the ash colored pelicans flinging themselves into the water with a splash and reappearing with an outstretched beak full of terrified fish. Now inch forward into the icy water. Feel the rush of the waves as they try to sweep you into the ocean. Try to stay balanced as the sand teams up with them and races out from beneath your feet. Close your eyes and let the
Descriptive Essay On A Beach
For this assignment I decided to head out to Docweiler Beach near LAX. I love the beach, not so much for going swimming or getting wet but more to lay in the sand and just relax to the soothing sound of the waves, especially nice in this hot weather. I decided to bring my sister for the ride so it's not to lonely and set up around a more deserted part for more concentration and relaxation. I also chose Dockweiler Beach because there I could get a sense of all the 5 ancient elements all in one sitting, with all the elements interacting. Water clashing against the sand to create a calming sound, the wind riding against the waves causes a cool chill down my spine and the man made fire to keep warm. I can feel the earth element in the sand getting in my toes and all over my clothes to later find more in my underwear. The Air element is strong along the beach, getting my hair all over my face as well as making kites fly high. I see the fire element being used to light the bonfires along the beach to keep people warm on the windy beach or to probably make S'mores. The water element as I can see is the giant ocean in front of me going as far as I can see with no ending. Another reason I don't like going into the water, the ocean is terrifying especially when you don't know how to swim. Then there is the void element which in this case is me and my mind observing this presence and writing it out in this essay. Officially today there is a total of 118 elements in the periodic table. These ancient four elements originated from the ancient Greeks and then the fifth element aether (void) was added by Aristotle. Before the fifth element the first four elements which were earth, wind, water, and fire, represented to the ancient Greeks as well as modern science the four states of matter. In these 4 states of matter we have solid representing the earth element, liquid representing the water element, gas representing the air element, and plasma representing the fire element. The ancient 5 elements are active is every bodies daily routine schedule. It's something we see every day and don't notice the affects they have on us. Looking more closely to everyday life we have earth. Earth is what we walk on, it has a variety of
Freezing cold rain poured down from the dark, cloudy sky as we were running like our lives depended on it. My dad was carrying my six year old sister and my mom was carrying me, and I was four years old. We could hear the cruise ship's horn blaring in the distance, but other than that and the seagulls' barking, we were surrounded by complete silence. Now, you're probably wondering where I am talking about and what is going on, but no need to worry, because I will tell you.
It was a bright and sunny day in lovely Bermuda. The wind whispered lightly around us. My sister and I were splashing around in the water while my parents were tanning on the warm, pink sand of Horseshoe Bay. I could feel the slightly cool and crisp breeze on my face. It was about noon, and we had to be back on our cruise ship by one o' clock. Horseshoe Bay is a half hour away from the dock, where our ship was swimming in place. Eventually, clouds started covering the sky like a blanket, and we started to feel a light mist, which we assumed was why people were leaving the beach, but none of us seemed to mind. Technology wasn't the greatest around this time, so all we had was a watch that my mom was wearing. By this time, it was around twelve thirty. I started to notice that I couldn't see a single soul on the beach other than us. Since I was very confused, I decided to speak up.
"Mommy, where did everybody go?" I asked
"I don't know Ally, it's probably just the rain!" she responded.
"No mommy, it's

Descriptive Essay About The Beach
Ask any of your friends or family what they think of when you mention hot Summer days and I'd guess they are like a lot of mine and immediately picture beaches. Some of them may think of the always warm climates of San Diego, Miami, or even Hawaii. Some might even venture to dream of the sands of the French and Italian Rivieras. What I dream of though is just a bit different. I always imagine the words "beach day" scrawled in the sand with pieces of seashells underlining the letters somewhere along the Pacific coast of Oregon. While the western half of the state is known for its cooler and wetter climate, the Summer season can be quite temperate and makes its beaches a perfect destination for escapes from the high heat. Once you get there, in addition to simply enjoying relaxing in the sand and splashing in the water, you will find plenty of activities along the way to make many new Summer memories.
Start at the northern end of Oregon's portion of Highway 101 and you will find Astoria. If you are of the generation that embraced the now classic "Goonies", you will find yourself recognizing this location immediately. Much of the movie was filmed here and there is a yearly Goonies Day celebration every June. Even if you are not a follower of the cinematic history of the area you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the surrounding ocean and mountains by climbing the spiral staircase of the 600 foot Astoria Column. The Column was completed as a marker commemorating the first
Descriptive Essay About A Beach
When you observe people at the beach, does not it resemble an anthill? The sandy beach, on a tropical island, is one of the most places that native people visit in their spare time, especially in summer season. Besides, people from gelid countries prefer to visit it in the winter season to escape from the harsh cold. The sandy beaches have three fundamental parts; there people enjoying the day. These components are the sandy part with umbrellas and sand area to play, the warm tropical sea, and the coastal dune where vegetation is growing, and people take on the shade. On the other hand, I always have felt an immense passion for the sea. For that, I appreciate spending time at the beach, having a good time and observing what people are doing there. I notice that everybody is happy. A lot of people are usually in the different parts of the beach doing amusement activities and shifting from one part to another through the day. Describing which activities people do in each part of the beach, can be an exciting task because you will understand exactly how people relax. Early in the morning the beach is desolate. Most people start to arrive at the beach around eight am. Slowly, they take off their clothes to show the various and colorful bathing suit. The sandy beaches with cream color sand are fabulous. Many of them have sand composed of minuscule marine animals. These tiny grains of sand are detritus of mollusk, seaweed, and foraminiferous, which it gets

Descriptive Essay On The Beach House
When walking down the beach with my toes squishing through the sand, I knew I was where I belonged. Smiling at everyone we passed, a certain girl caught my eye. She was relaxing in a chair right at the water's edge where the waves crashed over her feet. Accompanying her was a dog with a smile from ear to ear as it pranced around in the rolling waves. Most people would simply swoon over the dog, but I knew what I was seeing was my future. Each summer my family and I travel to my uncle's beach house in Emerald Isle, North Carolina. He was able to design his own house from the ground up on his own piece of property within a private community. The property is only a short golf cart ride away from the beach entrance. I always count down the days in excitement for a stress–free weekend. I know it is my chance to finally unwind and get a true break from all the stress induced by work and school–related projects. The beach has always been my safe haven– a place where I can physically feel my head clear up and spend valuable time with my family. All throughout high school we are expected to have our futures planned out. I could never really see a clear image of what mine my entail. I could never quite pinpoint my goal in life, until I was sitting on the private beach last summer. I knew I wanted to design my own house to fit my interests. I knew I wanted the financial freedom to be able to own my beach house on a private beach. I want to watch my dogs prance around in the water
Descriptive Essay : A Day At The Beach
As I stood there, on the beach, glancing at the ocean in awe of the beautiful sight, a sudden gust of wind blew past me. Each individual strand of my hair crossed my face, the sun played peek–a–boo as it made its appearance just above the horizon, as if it were too scared to show its' beautiful light. The smell of the sea filled my nose as I took in the fresh air. The sand was filled with corals, with a collection of many sea shells, all of which had their own uniqueness in shape, size and color; however, the sand felt like a bed full of soft comforters. The way the ice–cold water moved the sand and flowed onto my feet and between my toes, made my heart race. It was as soft and delicate as a newborn; the tiny grains of sand were so fine that it could not possibly be seen without a microscope. The waves sounded as if they were singing a soothing song to me, causing me to look back on all of my past memories and drawing me closer to them. They were inviting me in with their eternal arms, but my feet could not listen because the frigid waves penetrated my feet. It was as if I were stuck. My feet were planted, my feet would not move. It was as if they were frozen to the ground and could not possibly take a step, therefore, I sat down, watching the sun rise higher and higher, lighting up the beautiful morning sky. As the time gradually went by, the warm rays of sun glowed; with a cheerful, good morning, reaching down towards me and shining a beam of light towards

I walked along the beach. As I was walking I could feel the fresh smell of the beach like it was an air freshener but it also smelled that gave me a tingle in my nose. As I kept walking along the beach I could feel the light breeze coming against me. This fresh air felt warm as I felt like I was sleeping in a comfortable bed. I kept walking in the beach, as I did it felt like an escape to all my problems and also my stress. Beach felt like a solution to all my problems and could be open with anything.
As I stroll along, I could feel the soft smooth sand under my feet. The sand was very hot and I walked through it felt like I was walking on a burning grill. The sand was mixed with a different coloured shells. The light from the sun shined on the shell which reflected onto me creating a rainbow. My foot was making marks on the beach as I took every step, these marks remained there until the water came and erased it away. As I kept walking, I looked around and it felt like I was having the best time of life. The bright shining sun went through my cold skin and give me a feeling of excitement. When I kept walking I could see the birds roaming around the sky like a pack of wolves making irritating squeaky noises as it is hungry and trying to find its prey. The sky turned from dark blue sky to a bright shimmery blue sky. Soft, fluffy big clouds were covering the sky, as it started to split away. As it split away, the sun restored and shined on the waves and the cold water started boiling. As these waves dashed, the noises soothed me every time.
I began walking towards the beach and I stopped at the edge of the beach where I decided to put my toes in the water. As soon as my toes in the water I got this light shiver in my body, where I felt like it touched my soul. I could feel softness when the water covers my leg. At this time, I could remember the time when I used to play with sand and water. I decide to come close to the beach and I could hear fishes screaming frightened of their preys that is looking to eat them. These birds have been trying to find their lunch as they are hungry for it. I can see the dolphins jumping around with a smile on their life. It feels like they having the best time of their life, as

Beau·ti·ful; byo͞odəfəl/adjective –pleasing the senses or mind aesthetically. The word beautiful. The majority of people in this generation only think objects or people fulfill this word. They don't contemplate the one thing with the most beauty, the beach. When most hear the word 'beach', they see it as a landform alongside water or someplace to hang out at. No one digs a hole in their mind to get as deep as they can into thought. When you truly consider what a beach really is, the outcome is beautiful.
Moving to New Jersey, I was not pleased. I was the most morose 4 years old there was. Formerly, I lived in New York, along the same street as my cousin. My cousin was also my best friend considering we are the same age. So vacating from being down the street from my best friend to more than an hour away was not my favorite thing.
" You're, you're...you're what? Moving?" Angelina, my cousin, says while stuttering. I think of the best way to say Yes I'm moving more than an hour away, tomorrow and will not see you every day.
" Yes I am but it's not that far, it's only like um.... 90 minutes away!" I say as I try to make it sound slightly better. We just sat there both trying to figure out something to say. Our hugs spoke for our minds, so tight and strong, It had come the time where I had to say goodbye to my best friend. When I walked down the dilapidated steps, I could feel the clouds and rain come out from our thoughts. As my eyes were threatening to spill tears, I managed

The waves are crashing. The sun is setting. People are laughing and
embracing under the sunset. I feel the sand squish slowly through my toes
as I gaily walk down the shoreline of the Outer Banks. My all time favorite
place to be is the beach. The weather at the beach is the most quarreling

foamy mist from the rampant ocean spray your face lightly as though it was

my castle stands out among all the others on the beach. The search for the

A wide variety of sports is played on the beach. There is nothing like a

Descriptive Essay : A Day At The Beach
A day at the beach
The place that is peaceful in its own ways. It is the place to go to get away from our jobs and everyday duties. It is the place where we can sit and think the best. A place where nothing matters but what is in that little moment. This place is called the beach. A trip to the beach can be successful if you make the right preparations and find activities to do during the day and night. Nature is so beautiful and to witness it, there is no more beautiful place then a beach or watching a sun set on a beach. For some reason, I have been attached to the beach so much and even though I don't know swimming, surfing or any kind of water sports. I enjoy by watching waves, smell of water and sand and the cold breeze of fresh air.
