Management Problems and Solutions Essay
ABSTRACT: Regularly management seeks to correct organizational deficiencies in order to align the organization to be more efficient, effective, and economical. They may opt to perform total quality management, lean six sigma, or simply downsize. Management may even identify symptoms without actually identifying the problem. Management may misdiagnose the problem by identifying a person or group of people as problems. While correctly recognizing problems, there are more on the verge and it is up to management to mitigate potential problems. Sometimes managers need to realize that the answers they seek are right before they eyes; they only simply need to look in a mirror.

The Problems with Abortion and Solutions Essays
The Problems with Abortion and Solutions
Abortion is referred as the termination of a pregnancy or of a fetus that is incapable of survival (Dictionary.com). Abortion is morally wrong and illegal because the fetus is a person. It is the same thing as murder. The reasons people have abortions are they are not ready to handle the responsibility of another human being, the fetus may have a birth defect, mother's heath is an issue, rape, or simply because they don't want any more children (Abortioninfo). The majority of people that have abortions are teenagers. Abortion is flat out wrong and should be banned. Being that abortion is immoral no matter the circumstances, justifies the need for a law to make it illegal.

This usually occurs during the second or third trimester. The cervix is dilated for the entry of surgical forceps (AbortionTV). The fetus is partly pulled though the vagina in a breech style. The legs of the fetus are hanging out of the womb. The doctor forces the scissors into the back of the head and spreads the scissors to increase the wound size. A suction cup is held over the fetus's head as the brains are sucked out (AbortionTV). The body is removed and the womb is cleaned of any other birthing particles. The partial abortion procedure can have fatal side effects such as infection of the cervix, excessive bleeding of the womb, chances for the mother to be fertile decreases, and causes scarring of the uterine wall. Medical experts thought the fetus couldn't feel the pain of the scissors going through its head but, they were wrong. Studies show that it can feel the pain three to five times more than an adult that would experience it (AbortionTV). The tiny fetus's are sedated and numbed up so the won't feel the intense pain.
Since the legalization of abortion, more than 126,000 abortions have been performed every day and more than 46,000,000 each year (AbortionTV). One may say they can't understand how a mother can just kill her child because of her irresponsibility. She may rebuttal back with the answer that the fetus is not yet human and it wouldn't feel any pain anyway. Studies show that the
A Solution to the Population Problem:
Increasing importance has been placed upon population and population growth over the course of the past few centuries. Scientists are frenetically searching for the solution to this issue, and their outcomes are bleak. They are telling the world that if population growth does not slow, the earth will swell to a capacity too large to sustain itself and the conclusion will be apocalyptic. Explanations are numerous, however viable solutions are difficult to find. Adherents to the Malthusian theory, such as Garrett Hardin, author of the article There Is No Global Population Problem, believe that this extreme growth in population will hinder economic development, therefore the industrialized nations must fight to control the population...show more content...
The biggest failure of Hardin's argument of deglobalization is that he overlooks the real problem behind overpopulation in many of these countries, which is the consumption of resources by the Western world. "A population that is under 5% of the world's population generates and consumes 25% of the global GNP" (Porter and Sheppard, 1998 Pg. 136) This rabid consumption by the most well off countries pushes the global south deeper into poverty, which is a root cause of population growth. Although Hardin admits "Americans are too comfortable to try hard to find an answer." (Hardin 1989 Pg. 49) he neglects to mention that a good deal of the population problem is caused by the unceasing consumption by our country. If the problem is deglobalized, as Hardin suggests, the Western world will essentially be turning its back on the problem it created.
The demographic transition theory, which Gerard Piel supports in his article, offers up a more educated solution to the population problem. The theory claims population growth is related to economic achievements; the more advanced countries increase their life spans, enabling more people to mature to the reproductive years, which in turn leads to an increase in population growth. The growth is then kept in check by technological advances, namely birth control, but also by the fact that a smaller family is ideal since agriculture is not the main source of income and more people is no longer more help, just more mouths to

ABSTRACT
Obesity is the most prevalent, fatal, chronic and relapsing disorder of the 21st century. The rapid growth in obesity represents a major public concern. Although body weight tends to increase with age, the evolution of obesity over the lifecycle is not well understood. This paper, based on secondary research, discusses the causes and effects of the obesity problem and its solutions. Based on the findings of the research, the paper draws the conclusion that although obesity...show more content...
In fact, a lack of energy balance most often causes overweight and obesity because of taking in more calories than using. People are becoming more inactive and lazier. As noted in What Causes Overweight and Obesity? (2010) on the website nhlbi.nih.gov, many Americans are not very physically active. One reason for this is that they spend hours in front of TVs and computers doing work and relaxing. Other reasons for being passive include: using cars instead of walking, fewer physical requirements at work or at home and lack of physical exercise classes in school for children. People who are passive are more likely to gain weight so an inactive lifestyle also raises your risk of obesity and other health problem.
Gene is also shown as a factor resulting in obesity. Regardless of the environment, some people stay thin and some still become obese. The Causes of Obesity on the website annecollins.com shows that genes affect a number of weight–related processes in the body, such as metabolic rate, blood glucose metabolism, fat–storage, hormones. It also gives the evidence that adopted children tend to develop weight problems similar to their biological, rather than adoptive, parents. In addition, infants born to overweight mothers have been found to less active and to gain more weight by the age of three months when compared with infants of normal weight mothers. According to The causes of obesity–genes, behaviour and environment (2009) on the website

Ultimately, Brian Allen, President of New Product Development chose to present Instant Rewards to the Board of Directors. Although the new product development team has ideas that are strong they were not sufficient enough for the Board to give them seal of approval.

The focus groups and surveys of both products show they can expand its market share, yet each department is faced with a challenge of proving to the Board the results are adequate. With the newest member to the Board of Directors, Bea Henson, has challenged Brian to re–strategize his research and approach. Bea pointed out to Brian that the huge sample size may be distorting the results. Marine Pollution: Causes and Solutions Essay
As the world develops and the human population grows there is more pollution being dumped into the oceans, causing major problems to marine life and ecosystems. Major causes of marine pollution involve non–point pollutants, marine garbage, toxic ocean pollutants and sewage disposal in oceans. From heavy metal poisoning including lead and mercury killing predators such as sharks and whales, to waste getting trapped in the digestive tracts of marine animals, this essay focuses on how human interference causes horrifying problems to the marine life, but also how to fix it. It will also explore the normal activities of people including farming and how this can cause an imbalance in an ecosystem. Everyday activities can cause massive nutrient...show more content...
PCB's (polychlorinated biphenyls) and dioxins have been in focus recently as there are concerns that the different structures are appearing to mimic the effects of female oestrogenic hormones. (Gray 1996) These chemicals can cause genetic chromosomal problems and major concerns to the reproductive effectiveness of marine animals. Oil spills and the burning of wood and coal can cause poly–aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), which has a negative effect on all wildlife causing genetic abnormalities. (EMCBTAP–ENVIS Newsletter 2002).
Global Warming
Global warming is a major problem when providing a suitable habitat and lifestyle for ample marine life. With sea levels rising there are consequences to plant life in coastal wetlands that can not handle the amount of water being provided. The wetlands are important in their job to protect the species they contain and for stabilizing coastlines. Storms are increasing in magnitude and severity, causing the transport of nutrients to marine life to be disturbed. As shores move further inland animals will have to move and adapt, history has shown how this can decrease populations. In the future both rare and abundant species could become locally extinct, with rare species on the verge of becoming totally extinct.
Marine garbage
Another cause of marine pollution is the discarding of garbage into oceans, rivers and dams. The situation is a major problem causing harm to marine life and ecosystems all over the world. Old
Essay on Common Teenage Problems
Teenage is a fundamental stage of life that each human being passes through. Some people face this period of their life strongly and positively, while others face many problems and difficulties. This depends on the environment these young adults live in, their parents, their friends, their living conditions, their education, and many other factors. Teenagers face many problems such as becoming addicted to drugs and alcohol, being influenced negatively by their peers, self–image and weight, or even arguments with their parents

Peer pressure has always been present and will also always be present. It is not a disease or a crime, it is an influence; either a negative or a positive one. Negative peer pressure is an influence put on a person to do something wrong, or something the person doesn't want to do. This may be stealing, taking drugs, or other dangerous actions. If someone influences you into doing something like this it is considered a negative peer pressure. This is a major problem in most schools all around the world. Teenagers usually feel peer pressure when they feel unpopular between their friends, or when they want to be accepted in a group of other teenagers. The group is a place where one feels accepted, where he can feel good about himself, where he feels secure. It increases his self esteem, and it also enhances his self–image. Unfortunately, teenagers who want to be part of these groups, need to follow certain unpleasant routines, such as stealing, smoking, taking drugs, or drinking alcohol. Many times they do things that they would never have imagined themselves doing before meeting a new group of people. Some teens try to make the "right" decision so others will admire them. Having parents or other responsible adults they can turn to for help or advice is crucial at this point in a teen's life.
Teenagers might also face self–image or weight problems. One of the main illnesses that comes from these
Campus Violence: Problem and Solution Essay
Violence on campuses increasingly manifest in a larger number of random assaults, group fights, mass shootings, flash–mob crimes, and vicious one–on–one attacks. Since March, about four women were charged for the murder of other female students. Crime gradually characterizes the modern college experience. Despite security provided, crime and violence rates increased on school campuses.
The number of cases increased from 40 during the 1980s to 79 in the 1990s and 83 since 2000. The reason for the increase remains unknown. However, the increase in crime rate occurred in college student enrollment within the previous 20 years. Students targeted by violators may lose self–esteem. They may also undergo depression or anxiety due to the traumatic events. The students involved in violent activities become a nuisance to other students. They may also fail out of school and end up ruining their futures.
The goal of every parent is to enroll their children in school so they may develop a better future. Most parents plan on providing tuition, recommendations and support for their children. Numerous parents must now become experts on helping them manage with the result of robbery, rape, and murder. A tragic experience on campus may affect the students' academics and change their ways of living.
Young people experiencing freedom for the first time may become less eager to cooperate in confrontations. Countless students undergo loneliness until they find friends and public activities, which leave them with no support system to help solve problems. Many primary schools report violent incidents concerning females. Social medias create a place for people to terrorize each, which stirs up violence. "Every week, there is some sort of violent altercation between females and the arrest of young females for violent crimes." (Attorney Paul B. Ebert).

Solving The Issues Of The Business Essay
Introduction
The aim of this report is to identify and propose possible solutions to the issues the business may have. It focuses on the major problems found on an initial inspection of the company and on the best possible ways of dealing with them. The report is going to be divided in 7 parts plus conclusion that are going to be focused on the 7 major problems found. It is going to involve decision making and taking every problem and break it down until effective solutions are found – within the possibilities of the company, and also my recommendations on the enterprise systems that would help with the difficulties discussed.
Within this report there will be analysis of possible ways the approach of the organisation could be improved using Enterprise Applications, and how possible softwares mentioned could improve every aspect of the business.

Over ordering the stock was the first problem found, as well as receiving poor quality goods from the suppliers. The importance of having quality raw material should not be questioned and settling for the stock that is received without trying to resolve the issue is only going to reflect on the final product and the dissatisfaction of the customer. 'The market power of suppliers can have a significant impact on firm profits, especially when the firm cannot raise prices as fast as can suppliers.' (Laudon, 2010) It is important to have a systematic way of processing the stock from the suppliers – therefore by
Essay on The Psychology of Problem Solving
Where there is a problem there is a solution. No matter how complicated nor how elusive the solution is one is always there. Problems are the basis of jobs and careers: restaurants for hunger, movies and video games for boredom, news for information etc. However, with basic problems that have a set solution there are a variety of ways to solve it.
Working backwards, although slightly different, is a widely used and very effective way of solving problems. 1 (Referring to page "Problem I") Most people would look at this problem and would loathe solving it because it would involve creating a long complicated algebraic problem. Using the method of working backwards even a child who hasn't learned algebra can solve the same problem and...show more content...
2 Heuristics are rules of thumb that can help us to reach a solution to a problem, typically when facing complex problems or incomplete information. These rules work well under most circumstances. They can also be considered shortcuts. However, heuristics can cause cognitive biases. Having a cognitive bias can significantly affect the scientific method or ABCDE's of problem solving. For example, "if the problem is "When do you eat food?", if you answer, "When I'm hungry" then you would have to eat immediately every single time you were hungry. Instead, we follow heuristics to determine when to eat by gauging our hunger level, the situation we are in, and our ability to get food."
The basis of problem solving is called the ABCDE's. Assess the problem, Brainstorm approaches to the problem, Choose an approach that seems most likely to work, Do it, try the most likely approach, Evaluate the results. To assess the problem means to dissect the problem and see what it's all about. In order to sole the problem effectively one must assess what kind of problem it is. Brainstorming approaches is the action of spontaneous creation of ideas that pertain and could solve the problem. The more ideas produced the more "cushion" you

Overfishing: The Problem and the Solution
A major environmental problem that has developed over the last few years is overfishing. What is overfishing? Overfishing is simply what it sounds like. Overfishing occurs when fishermen are catching fish so quickly and at such high rates that the fish are unable to reproduce fast enough to replenish the population. It is my belief that, if this has not always been a problem, it has always been a problem in the making. This problem has progressively gotten worse as the human population that relies on fish as a food resource has increased and the equipment and techniques used by the fishermen have...show more content...
Some of the actions that can be taken in order to reverse the problems that overfishing has caused include: inform the public, put restrictions on catch limits, reduce bycatch, protect habitats, and enforce all new policies. The following plan lays out the steps that will occur with each action and when these actions should be taken.
Action Items:
Inform the public including consumers and fishermen of the problems and what can be done to make a change.
Action Steps:
Research and identify the long term effects that overfishing will have.
Conduct interviews with both environmentalists and experts on the issue as well as fishermen in order to present both sides of the argument.
Attend a city council meeting to introduce the idea and the importance of a presentation as well as schedule a time for one to be made.
Present information on what overfishing is, the impact that overfishing has on the marine ecosystem and on our existence, make consumers more aware of the type and amount of fish that they eat, and actions that can be taken to reverse the problem.

Education Debt: The Problem and Solutions Essay
With the ever–increasing tuition and ever–tighten federal student aid, the number of students relying on student loan to fund a college education hits a historical peak. According to a survey conducted by an independent and nonprofit organization, two–thirds of college seniors graduated with loans in 2010, and each of them carried an average of $25,250 in debt. (Reed et. al., par. 2). Nowadays education debt has become a national issue that generates heated debate. Through the Internet and online database I find the most recent report and statistics on education debt. Most of the online sources I have searched, including CQ Researcher, Opposing Viewpionts, government and nonprofit organizations, acknowledge that students are increasingly shouldering high levels of debt to finance college education. The difference in the sources is the use of different rhetorical appeals. Most of the authors use a combination of logos and ethos, and some use a combination of logos and pathos. It seems that they all share the same goal that they want to improve the student loan program and make college education affordable. I also found some web sources that have a divergent view. For example, "Debt Burden: Repaying Student Debt", a report written by American Council on Education, the only higher education organization that represents presidents and chancellors of all types of U.S. accredited, degree–granting institutions. This report describes the borrowing and repayment experiences of 1992/93 and 1999/2000 bachelor's degree recipients one year after graduation. The author believed that student loan debt did not have discernible impact on graduate one year later. To support his/her argument, the author collects data from U.S. Department of Education and National Center for Education Statistics. Although this source is reliable and

Some veterans suffer from a mental illness known as PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) when they do not seek medical help they have a higher risk of becoming homeless then those that seek medical advice. This disorder was caused by something that the military veteran experienced while in active duty during war.
While the idea's that have come forth to try to solve the problem of homelessness, many people have come up with great solutions that are currently helping these individuals. The programs that are in place provide shelters for people who have been kicked to the streets and have no place to stay. These shelters provide food, clothing, water, and best of all a place to sleep. However, these shelters require the individuals staying there to seek a job during the day. The biggest problems these shelters have come from the rules that apply to those staying. The current rules allow homeless people to take advantage of the program by allowing them to stay there for up to 6 months, and then they must move to another shelter or live on the streets. The problem presented with this rule is in most cities they have more than one shelter, which allows people to abuse the system and live under the care of taxpayers indefinitely. However, most people understand that there could potentially be more than one reason why a person would need to return to a homeless shelter within 6 months to a year, but not spend almost their entire life using

The principles of war and reasoning have been perverted by the U.S. Government. In Oceania, citizens are required to compromise its beliefs in order to cope with an ongoing war that never seems to have an end. As the morale builds, more and more citizens start to mold their beliefs to what their fellow Oceanians are believing. If enough of the citizens believe that the war is held with proper justifications, then it would be very unorthodox for an individual to oppose popular opinion. Just as the government of Oceania uses war to make their citizens compromise their beliefs, America has been involved in a war known as the "War On Terror" for the past decade. Schools, districts, states, and the federal government should be financially accountable to the public, with policymakers accountable to provide the resources needed to produce positive results. Policies should assist and encourage parents, families, and communities to be actively involved and engaged in their public schools. And finally they should provide incentives or require employers to grant a reasonable amount of leave for parents to participate in their children's school activities. A qualified, caring, diverse, and stable workforce in our schools requires a pool of well prepared, highly skilled candidates for all vacancies, quality induction for new teachers with mentoring services from trained veteran teachers, opportunities for continual improvement and growth for all employees, working conditions in which they can be successful, and professional compensation and benefits. The Problem Of Suicide And Suicide Essay
Day to day, teens suffer from peer pressure, problem from home, and stress from academics. Despise their status in the environment, majority of high school students refrain from acknowledging the presence of their reality. The problem in most situations in that students feel shut in, trapped in a never ending misery. How do they cope? What are their ways of dealing? Most students live in denial. Others have friends to confide in. For the devastating part, most students are not as open to these ideas and it leaves them with this alternative: suicide. Suicide is the third leading cause in teens the ages 14 to 19 within rural underserved areas. Suicidal ideation (SI), suicidal thoughts, were surveyed in over 12 high schools and it was found that in the past year, thoughts of (SI) were not shared with peers or even adults in the pursuit of receiving help or support (Pisani, 2012). Because a student spends most of their day at school, it is ideal for schools to provide realistic opportunities and school–based programs to assist with the suicide among the youth. He also explains how hard it would be to learn a new kind of programming language, however beside all the difficulties they had also faced some major problems, after they almost finish with the World Wide Web.
